Recovery The treated area sheds skin and produces crusting until the deeper layers regenerate to create your new skin surface. During this period the skin is treated with ointment - never allowed to dry out. The skin is cleansed with dilute acetic acid (vinegar) washes. After about seven days smooth baby like skin appears. This is a very delicate skin and needs moisturizers and protection from the sun. The skin will be reddened like a sunburn for about four to six weeks.
Light make-up usually hides this temporary color difference. We use the TruPulse laser which is associated with very rapid recovery compared with other CO2 lasers available.
