COSMETIC SURGERY

The surgery - This surgery is usually performed on an outpatient basis, with local anesthesia supplemented by sedation if needed. Generally all four lids require 60 to 90 minutes surgery time.

Recovery - Rest for 2 to 3 days. Ice compresses aid in the control of swelling and bruising. Ointment is placed in the eyes and over the incisions. Sutures are removed in 5 to 7 days. Make-up may be used in one week. Bruising and swelling subside in 1 to 4 weeks. Return to normal activity is possible in one week; to vigorous physical exercise in two weeks.
